Taking antidepressants before and during pregnancy may raise the odds of autism spectrum disorder in children, a recent review showed. The study found that children born to mothers who took antidepressants during pregnancy had an 81% increased odds of developing autism. The researchers also found that children born to women who took antidepressants before pregnancy had a 77% likelihood of developing autism. As part of the analysis, French researchers examined six studies with a total cohort population of 117,737 participants and compared them with people without autism.
Iran’s former hardline president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has been disqualified from running in Iran’s presidential elections next month, according to the final list of approved candidates announced on Thursday.
Iran’s interior ministry said that the guardian council – the group of influential jurists and clerics that vets all candidates – had approved six politicians to run, including the moderate incumbent, Hassan Rouhani.
Also on the list are Ebrahim Raisi, a close ally of the country’s supreme leader; the mayor of Tehran, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf; Rouhani’s first deputy, Eshaq Jahangiri; and relatively low-profile politicians Mostafa Agha Mirsalim and Mostafa Hashemi-Taba.
But the list excluded more than 1,600 other nominees who had applied to run for president, including all 137 female candidates – and Ahmadinejad.

United Airlines may be behind one of the most shocking incidents of 2017 – as a bloodied passenger was dragged down an airplane's aisle – but Americans still prefer the carrier over President Donald Trump, a new poll shows.
The left-leaning pollsters at Public Policy Polling found that when voters were asked which they had a higher opinion of, 42 percent selected United Airlines, while 40 of respondents pointed to Trump.
While their responses are within the survey's 3.9 percent margin of error, there are a number of indications that Americans are feeling down about The Donald.
The first round of the 2017 French presidential election is set to be held this coming Sunday on the 23rd of April 2017. Should no candidate win a majority, which is usually the case in France, a run-off election between the top two candidates will be held on May 7th, 2017.
Sessions: Assange Arrest Is 'a Priority'
Attorney General Jefferson Sessions insists that even though there haven’t been charges laid against Assange yet that arresting him is “a priority” for the Justice Department, citing the number of “quite serious” leaks WikiLeaks has been responsible for.
US officials have repeatedly vilified WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange over the past several years, and intermittently called for his assassination, but just now appear to be nearing a decision to file charges against him, accusing him of crimes for involvement in the whistleblower organization.
Interestingly, President Trump publicly praised WikiLeaks during the campaign for releasing information about Hillary Clinton, even joking that WikiLeaks might be able to find Clinton’s “lost” emails. Having since turned against Russia in large part as a political effort to distance himself from allegations of election manipulation, Trump’s cabinet is also turning against WikiLeaks.

After launching the disastrous missile strikes against Syrian military forces that resulted in the killing of Syrian soldiers, civilians, and children as well as sending ships toward North Korea in a flagrant act of aggression and dropping the largest known non-nuclear bomb on Afghanistan, the Trump administration is now taking aim at Iran.
Sounding much like it did after its bizarre and unprovoked “putting Iran on notice” speech made by former Trump administration official Michael Flynn, the United States is now “reviewing its policy” on Iran and warning the world of the dangers of a nuclear Iran...
If there is a nuclear false flag, the FEMA post-Katrina evacuation, ethnic cleansing of Louisiana could be the template for forced migration and human catastrophe (social engineering).
Did you know that the percentage of 18 to 34-year-old Americans that are married and living with a spouse has dropped by more than half since 1975? Back then, 57 percent of everyone in that age group “lived with a spouse”, but today that number has dropped to just 27 percent.

White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner is leading an unprecedented effort to meddle in the White House's National Security Council, causing mayhem for senior staff who say the president's son-in-law is interfering in key foreign policy debates, according to Trump administration officials who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.
Kushner has taken aggressive action to micro-manage the NSC, overshadowing even recently installed National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, according to sources both inside and outside the White House who described Kushner's behavior as highly unusual and damaging to the country's national security infrastructure.
Two police officers were shot dead by a pair of Kalashnikov-wielding gunmen on the Champs Elysees in central Paris tonight.
French police said that the incident was probably a 'terrorist act' and the world famous avenue was on lockdown by 9pm.
Heavily armed officers had flooded the area and a third individual - believed to be the killer - was shot dead, according to police sources.
Police are searching the home of the shooter in east Paris and the attacker had previously mentioned on social media that he 'wanted to kill police', according to BFM TV.
That “worst health” label includes a ranking of 34th in the world with infant mortality. In other words, the USA has the 34th worst infant survival with its highest rate of vaccinations. Some are directly from multiple vaccinations administered.
But the USA leads the world in infant vaccinations, those administered during the first year after their births – 26 vaccinations during that time.
The only vaccination I recall receiving during early childhood, circa 1948, was the smallpox vaccine, the one that left a circle of shallow pockmarks on the upper arm, a non-ink tattoo that proved you had received that vaccine. Months later there was the booster shot which gave me a vacation of several days away from my first grade teacher while sitting out the chicken pox.
We should all “March For Science” this Earth Day. But let’s get one thing straight. The assault on science is nothing new. It’s been going on under Democrats and Republicans alike for decades. Trump’s attacks are particularly blatant and vociferous, but the situation was thoroughly unacceptable long before he moved into the White House.
The solution isn’t changing administrations. It’s changing the system.
Here’s what’s we’ve been dealing with for decades with respect to science and science-based public policy:
In a 2006 court filing, Palm Beach police noted that a search of Epstein’s home uncovered two hidden cameras. The Mirror reported that in 2015, a 6-year-old civil lawsuit filed by “Jane Doe No. 3,” believed to be the now-married Giuffre, alleged that Epstein wired his mansion with hidden cameras, secretly recording orgies involving his prominent friends and underage girls. The ultimate purpose: blackmail, according to court papers.

If you lived in North Korea, you might think your government had attacked a U.S. aircraft carrier which was approaching the country. You would probably think North Korea had the capabilities to hold their own against the U.S. including “super mighty” preemptive nuclear strikes which could hit mainland USA.
But we live in America, so we believe that North Korea is a backward communist country where the people are oppressed by their government and starving in the streets. Their leader is an insane dictator who talks a big game while the country sits on the brink of collapse.
And this might be close to the truth. We don’t really know though because all of our information about North Korea is imparted to us from the media and our corrupt government which controls them. In that sense, what we know about the world is not so different from what North Koreans know about the world. It is really just a matter of degree.
“We are sending an armada, very powerful,” President Donald Trump said over a week ago when asked about the tensions in North Korea. As it turns out, that “armada” wasn’t heading anywhere near North Korea. And sadly, some very important allies are now nervously laughing at Trump’s lies.

Video taken on April 4 shows that the location where the victims were supposedly being treated from sarin exposure is incompatible with the only open space in the hamlet that could have been used for mass treatment of victims. This indicates that the video scenes where mass casualties (dead and dying) were laid on the ground randomly was not at the hamlet. If the location where the bodies were on the ground was instead a site where the injured and dead were taken for processing, then it is hard to understand why bodies were left randomly strewn on the ground and in mud as shown in the videos.

The first round of French elections will be held on April 23rd, prompting Facebook to shut down pro Le Pen accounts, which they deem to be 'fake.'
In an effort to fight 'fake news' or misinformation, Facebook has targeted 30,000 'fake accounts' in order to control the information that its users consume.
In a statement to AFP, the company said they were trying to "reduce the spread of material generated through inauthentic activity, including spam, misinformation, or other deceptive content that is often shared by creators of fake accounts."
They are targeting accounts with the highest amount of traffic -- since they pose a grave threat to the croissant eating frog lovers in France.
In addition to outright bans, the company, in conjunction with French media, are running 'fact checking' programs -- designed to fight 'fake news', heightening their efforts around the elections -- which spans from 4/23-5/7.
All of this hysteria happened after Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump's twitter account this past November -- prompting officials to pressure Facebook and Twitter to do something about the brazen belittling and subversion of the main stream media. Last week, the company launched a tool to help its users identify 'fake news' in 14 countries -- including the U.S., France and Germany.
In the U.S., we want things simplified, but the entrenched and powerful tax preparation class, including accountants from coast to coast and now the likes of Turbo Tax and H&R Block, will do everything they can to keep the status quo in place. Complexity and confusion force Americans to use others to prepare their taxes for them.
Roger Thompson, a defense analyst and professor at Kyung Hee University in South Korea, says the array of powerful anti-ship weapons developed in recent years by potential U.S. enemies, including China, Russia and Iran, increase carriers’ vulnerability.
The new weapons include land-based ballistic missiles, such as China’s Dong Feng-21 anti-ship missile, which has a claimed range of 1,100 miles (1,770 kilometers) and moves at 10 times the speed of sound. Certain Russian and Chinese submarines can fire salvoes of precision-guided cruise missiles from afar, potentially overwhelming carrier-fleet anti-missile defense.
Russia, China, Iran and other countries also have so-called super-cavitating torpedoes. These form an air bubble in front of them, enabling them to travel at hundreds of miles per hour. The torpedoes cannot be guided, but if aimed straight at a ship they are difficult to avoid.
A 2015 Rand Corporation report, “Chinese Threats to U.S. Surface Ships,” found that if hostilities broke out, “the risks to U.S. carriers are substantial and rising.”
“Beyond a shadow of a doubt, a carrier is just a target,” says defense analyst Pierre Sprey, who worked for the U.S. Secretary of Defense’s office from 1966 to 1986 and is a longtime critic of U.S. weapons procurement.
Nearly two-thirds of the US Navy ships that assisted in the relief efforts that followed the March 2011 nuclear disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant in Japan are still contaminated with low-level radiation, according to a new report.

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, who served just over a year as Reagan's Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy, said on the Shadow of Truth radio program that Washington, D.C., is a major den of inequity.
"The United States [military policy] has destroyed seven countries," he says. "The populations there are subject to ongoing continual violence either from the U.S. or these Jihadists or from the Islamic State.
On April 7, President Trump committed his first “act of war,” attacking Syria with missiles in response to what he said was a poison gas attack by the Syrian government that killed dozens. But the White House’s subsequent intelligence report offering its proof of Syria’s role was “false” and “fraudulent,” suggesting a “coverup” by a president acting without any intelligence and intentionally lying to the public.
These are the characterizations of two longtime experts in war studies and missile systems, which—along with coordinated comments by Vice President Mike Pence in South Korea and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Russia that America’s “strategic patience” is ending—suggest Trump may be seeking a war of choice, even if it involves fabricated intelligence.
The latest whistleblower is David Steele, a 20-year Marine Corps intelligence officer, and the second-highest-ranking civilian in the U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence. He is a former CIA clandestine services case officer, and this is what he had to say:
“Most terrorists are false flag terrorists, or are created by our own security services. In the United States, every single terrorist incident we have had has been a false flag, or has been an informant pushed on by the FBI. In fact, we now have citizens taking out restraining orders against FBI informants that are trying to incite terrorism. We’ve become a lunatic asylum.”
While the US State Department was obliged to admit that Iran remains in full compliance with the P5+1 nuclear deal in a report to Congress, they are clearly not happy about that fact, and with President Trump openly looking to “renegotiate” the deal, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson attacked the pact in general.
Indeed, Tillerson’s comments gave the appearance he didn’t know about the compliance, even though he was the one who signed the letter in the first place, as he attacked the P5+1 deal as a failure and accused Iran of “unchecked” nuclear ambitions posing a grave risk to the world.
Iran was never particularly close to nuclear weapons, and its leadership has repeatedly ruled out developing them. The P5+1 deal allows Iran an extremely limited civilian nuclear program, and since its implementation both the US and IAEA have repeatedly affirmed Iranian compliance.
Which means if the US wants to weasel its way out of the deal, which they clearly do, they need to invent some other problem, with Tillerson claiming that Iran’s status as a “state sponsor of terrorism” could justify backing out of the deal.
The FBI is responsible for more terrorism plots in the United States than any other organization. More than al Qaeda, more than al Shabaab, more than the Islamic State, more than all of them combined.
This isn't likely how you think about the FBI. You probably think of FBI agents gunning down bad guys like John Dillinger, or arresting corrupt politicians.
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the FBI became less concerned with gangsters and crooked elected officials. The new target became terrorists, and the pursuit of terrorists has consumed the FBI.
Every year, the Bureau spends 3.3 billion dollars on domestic counterterrorism activities. Compare than to just 2.6 billion dollars combined for organized crime, financial fraud, public corruption and all other types of traditional criminal activity.
From the first sudden, and quite dramatic, appearance of the fanatical Islamic group known as ISIS which was largely unheard of until a year ago, on the world's stage and which promptly replaced the worn out and tired al Qaeda as the world's terrorist bogeyman, we suggested that the "straight to beheading YouTube clip" purpose behind the Saudi Arabia-funded Islamic State was a simple one: use the Jihadists as the vehicle of choice to achieve a political goal: depose of Syria's president Assad, who for years has stood in the way of a critical Qatari natural gas pipeline, one which could dethrone Russia as Europe's dominant - and belligerent - source of energy, reaching an interim climax with the unsuccessful Mediterranean Sea military build up of 2013, which nearly resulted in quasi-world war.
The narrative and the plotline were so transparent, even Russia saw right through them. Recall from September of last year:
1. Islamic Extremism
Chaos-inducing regime change, perpetual warfare, and economic assault have transformed much of the region into a battleground. The only people who still deny the involvement of the US government in breeding Islamic extremism are neocons, politicians, and Lockheed Martin executives.
2. Prohibition Cartels
It is prohibition that brought them into existence, especially legislation against marijuana and other drugs in America. The terror groups I’m referring to are the Mexican drug cartels: or as I like to call them, “prohibition cartels.”
3. The US Government
Surprised? Well you shouldn’t be. The most notable organization to bear responsibility for substantial worldwide suffering and misery over the last century is the United States government.
Syrian President Bashar Assad in an interview with Sputnik denied reports of the capture of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of Daesh (the Islamic State terrorist organization, or IS, banned in Russia).
"That's not true. Anyway, those borders are under the control of [Daesh] till this moment, it's neither Syrian nor Russian, not even Western or American or any other one; it's only [Daesh] who's controlling those borders, so it's safe for al-Baghdadi to be in that area," Assad said.
MSNBC terrorism analyst Malcolm Nance posted a call on Twitter Tuesday for the terrorist group ISIS to bomb a Trump building in Turkey. Nance has since deleted the tweet, which was first reported on by the Washington Free Beacon. Nance’s statement read, “This is my nominee for first ISIS suicide bombing of a Trump property” and referenced a tweet that featured a photo of Trump Tower in Istanbul, Turkey that accused President Donald Trump of using U.S. foreign policy to enrich himself.
US Defense Secretary James Mattis arrived in Saudi Arabia Tuesday, the first stop on his five-country tour of the region, on the heels of National Security Advisor HR McMaster’s trip to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Mattis' plan, he said, is to engage with Washington's strategic partners in the Middle East and Africa, and to discuss the current security situation in the region and cooperative efforts to counter destabilizing activities and extremist organizations.
"I think that [destabilizing activities] is an euphemism for Iran and perhaps some of the other forces in the region that are in alliance with Iran," Political analyst and Loud & Clear producer Walter Smolarek told the show's host Brian Becker.
Among Global Research’s most popular articles in 2016.
Incisive article originally published by GR in September 2014. Terror attacks or mass shootings allegedly perpetrated by the ISIS, the question that should be asked: who are the State sponsors of Al Qaeda and the ISIS? (M.Ch. GR Editor).
Much like Al Qaeda, the Islamic State (ISIS) is made-in-the-USA, an instrument of terror designed to divide and conquer the oil-rich Middle East and to counter Iran’s growing influence in the region.
The fact that the United States has a long and torrid history of backing terrorist groups will surprise only those who watch the news and ignore history.
The CIA first aligned itself with extremist Islam during the Cold War era.
Last week, the US deployed the MOAB “Mother of All Bombs” in Afghanistan for the first time ever, dropping it in a remote part of Afghanistan’s Nangarhar Province, supposedly against ISIS tunnels. Today, Pentagon officials confirmed that US ground troops are near the site of the bombing, still fighting ISIS forces.
The MOAB is the largest non-nuclear bomb ever deployed by the US, but what it actually accomplished is unclear, as the Pentagon has not confirmed any death tolls, and is keeping the site off-limits. That there are still ISIS fighters there to fight against, however, suggests that the MOAB was far from decisive.
McCain claims that Exxon Mobil must be mentally unstable to apply for a waiver from US sanctions on Russia to resume its business with the Russian oil giant Rosneft.
The Mother of all Bombs (MOAB), dropped by the US in Afghanistan, tells us everything about a culture that views the world through the morally indefensible prism of good Western bombs versus bad non-Western bombs.
A proposal in Congress would impose a new $2,400 fee on troops who want to sign up to get the GI Bill after discharge.
The idea is being considered by the House Veterans Affairs Committee next Wednesday at a hearing.
The nation’s veterans groups appear to be steaming about the proposed change.
“We are still a nation at war. We have troops actively engaged in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and now in Syria,” said leader of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Brian Duffy, in an issued statement.
Is there a “cause and correlation” effect relative to children’s chronic health issues surrounding the overwhelmingly accelerating negative health demographics seemingly related following the inordinate mandated number of multi-valent vaccines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as administered by pediatricians since the 1990s?
That’s a unique and valid question apparently no one in federal health agencies, specifically the CDC and FDA, wants neither to investigate nor find statistically valid data and answers either to substantiate or disprove using science-based methods.
In recent days there has been increasing buzz about an upcoming, multi-agency, emergency preparedness drill in the New York City area that has to do with training for a possible, nuclear, terrorist attack.
The multi-agency "training" exercise is called Gotham Shield 2017. Various phases of the drill are scheduled from the 18th of April to the 5th of May, beginning today, in fact, and running for the next two and a half weeks.
I will tell you frankly that it is my opinion that the danger of a nuclear false flag attack against a city in the USSA, or a series of attacks against multiple cities in the USSA is a very real and present danger. I have previously written about that threat here and here and explained my reasoning. My thinking has not changed.
If a nuclear detonation occurs in a city in the USSA, there is every possibility that it will be an inside job, exactly as the 9/11 attacks were.

Dr. David Brownstein says that the two-dose vaccine for chicken pox does lower the rate of that childhood illness. However, shingles, which is a painful recurrence of chickenpox, mostly in adults, has become an epidemic that is directly related to the vaccine. Shingles is far more serious and life-threatening than chicken pox. The bottom line is that billions of dollars are spent on vaccinating children to reduce the rate of a relatively mild childhood disease only to make them more susceptible to the same virus as adults causing serious illness (more medical bills) and even death. Big Pharma wins at both ends of the cycle.
What if our belief in self-government is a belief in a myth? What if the election of one political party over the other to control Congress changes only appearances? What if taxes stay high and regulations stay pervasive and the government stays oppressive and presidents fight wars no matter what the politicians promise and no matter who wins elections? What if the true goal of those whom we elect to Congress is not to be our agents of self-government or even to preserve our personal liberties but to remain in power by getting re-elected?
What if they use government to aid their own re-elections by bribing us with our own money — the rich with bailouts, the middle class with tax breaks and the poor with transfer payments?
British Foreign Secretary Johnson was on Tuesday briefing MPs on the situation in Syria and North Korea, when he was posed with a question by former Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Conservative MP, Alistair Burt. Burt asked what the UK government’s reaction would have been if, instead of just hitting Syria’s Shayrat airfield on April 7, Washington decided to first enlist military help from Britain.
When asked if he and the British government consider themselves to be “bound” by the past decision not to intervene in Syria and plan to reinvigorate the parliamentary debate or “if not, what might the United Kingdom be able to do to demonstrate its force and resolve,” Johnson hinted that the UK is ready to back Washington not only politically but also militarily.
“We were not asked for specific support, but it is my belief—I stress that no such decision has yet been taken—that were such a request to be made in future and were it to be a reasonable request in pursuit of similar objectives, it would be very difficult for the United Kingdom to say no,” the top British diplomat said, without elaborating.
?The crackdown against the DC pedophile ring continues, and retired Army general has just been arrested and charged with multiple counts of child rape. Former Vice President of DynCorp, Maj. Gen. James Grazioplene, was said to have committed these crimes between 1983 and 1989. And how do we know that he’s connected to the DC pedophile ring? The DynCorp connection.
In the following video, Right Wing News unpacks the long and sordid history of the pedophile ring and its activities through DynCorp. When operating in Serbia, DynCorp colluded with the Serbian mafia to provide underage prostitutes to its employees, none of which have faced prosecution. And despite DynCorp’s exploits being quite well known, with Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney even confronting Donald Rumsfield about it, the company is still doing business with the US government. Why is our taxpayer money going to support a company that exploits children and enables pedophiles?

The political decision of whether or not the US is going to attack North Korea rests at least in part on the effectiveness of the $40 billion US missile defense system, and its ability to shoot down retaliatory strikes from North Korea. While the Pentagon has insisted they have 100% confidence they can do so, experts are warning the system probably doesn’t work.
Indeed, the Union of Concerned Scientists has even issued a statement warning that Pentagon confidence is not only unwarranted from the data, but may be misinforming politicians making decisions on starting a war on the basis of their defensive capabilities.
The experts warn that there has been very limited testing of the missile defense system, and even in those tests, which are in ideal situations and not real world conflicts, the system has only succeeded three times out of nine. In a real world scenario, it would likely be even less dependable.

Falsification of history leads to disunity in the world and is fraught with huge risks, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Pobeda (Victory) Committee.
"Of course, unfortunately, there are other approaches to history, when they try to turn it into political and ideological weapons. We see the risks of a cynical attitude toward the past. How the falsification and manipulation of historical facts leads to the disunity of countries and peoples, to the emergence of new dividing lines, creating the image of an enemy," Putin said.
